Tavily Search API
The Tavily Search API component performs web searches optimized for LLM consumption and returns results with optional AI-generated answers.
Tavily Search API parameters
Some parameters are hidden by default in the visual editor. You can modify all component parameters through the component inspection panel that appears when you select a component.

| query | String | Input parameter. The search query to execute. |
| search_depth | String | Input parameter. Search depth. basic is faster; advanced returns higher quality results. Default: advanced. |
| topic | String | Input parameter. Search category. Options: general, news. Default: general. |
| days | Integer | Input parameter. Number of days back to include when using the news topic. Default: 7. |
| max_results | Integer | Input parameter. Maximum number of search results to return. Default: 5. |
| chunks_per_source | Integer | Input parameter. Number of content chunks to retrieve from each source (1–3). Only applies with advanced depth. Default: 3. |
| include_answer | Boolean | Input parameter. Include a short AI-generated answer to the query in the results. Default: true. |
| time_range | String | Input parameter. Filter results by time range. Options: day, week, month, year. Optional. |

The Tavily Extract API component extracts raw content from one or more URLs.
