Deployments

The Deployments page lets you publish your flows to external runtime environments and keep track of where each flow is deployed. Instead of running a flow only inside Orbis Studio, you connect a target environment once and then deploy flows to it.

The page has two tabs:

  • Deployments — the flows you have deployed, grouped by environment.
  • Deployment Environments — the environments (connections) you can deploy to.

Deployment environments

A deployment environment is a connection to a target where your flows will run. Orbis Studio supports several environment types:

  • watsonx Orchestrate — deploy a flow as an agent in watsonx Orchestrate.
  • Kubernetes — deploy to a Kubernetes target.
  • MCP — expose a flow through the Model Context Protocol.
  • Agent — deploy as an agent runtime.

Open the Deployment Environments tab to add and manage these connections. If none are configured yet, the page shows No Environments, prompting you to create your first one. Each environment stores the connection details needed to reach the target.

Deploy a flow

  1. Open the Deployments page from the Orbis Studio sidebar.
  2. Use the Environment picker to choose the target environment.
  3. Deploy the flow to that environment.

Deployed flows are listed under the Deployments tab, filtered by the selected environment, so you can see what is running where.

Deploying to watsonx Orchestrate has additional setup requirements. For a full walkthrough, see Deploy Orbis Studio on watsonx Orchestrate.
